After God’s Own Heart (L1)

Teacher: Eunice Chua
(Sec one only)
5/10 – 30/11 (7 Sundays), 1:15-2:30pm
This course will provide the opportunity to take a closer look at David, one of the central Old Testament figures. Students will discover a richness and depth that goes beyond the “standard” stories about David: how he killed Goliath, how he cut off a corner from Saul’s robe, and how he got entangled with Bathsheba. Rather, students will explore David as a man “after God’s own heart,” i.e., How did he manage to walk closely with God through all the ups and downs of life? and many other questions during this course.

Know Your Basic Doctrine (L1)
Teachers: Ps Alan Holmberg and Ps Aaron Low
5/10 – 30/11 (7 Sundays), 1:15-2:30pm
This course seeks to give the new believer a strategic grasp of foundational beliefs that will help stabilise his faith in God. Here only the more critical and important doctrines will be taught. The twofold objective of studying basic doctrines is for the young Christian to know what he believes and why he believes them. If he knows his doctrines, then he will be able to combat against doubts about God, about Christ, about the Holy Spirit, about his salvation, about eternal life, about heaven and hell.

Christian Character (L2)
Teachers: George Ong and Paula Teo
5/10 – 23/11 (6 Sundays), 1:15-2:30pm
Our Being is greater than our Doing! Who we are matters more than what we say! The Beatitudes can be likened to a profile on the subjects of the Kingdom of God. What value statements are to a corporation, the beatitudes are to the subjects of the Kingdom of God. It is the value-system and the ethical standard of the Kingdom of God. It is a description of who the Christian is to be, in character and conduct. The more we live in the beatitudes, the more Christ-like we become. Hear and learn of who the Christian is in this immensely practical study!
