Julie Goh’s Oikos’ Story
By Julie Goh Region 4
On 26th April 2013, a Friday afternoon, my sister and I had the honour of personally hearing our mom follow Ps John Goh in the salvation prayer in Teochew, submitting her life to our Lord Jesus.
Just almost a month before, at Easter Sunday’s service, my sister had also accepted Jesus into her heart. My heart is full of thanksgiving! I am humbled when I remember the many years I prayed for the salvation of my most loved oikos. Whenever I was wondering and doubts wavered in, God brought encouragements and helped me persevere.
My mom and sister have suffered some disappointments, but I want to praise God that, in the midst of these disappointments, it is our true God that they turned to. I want to continually pray that God continues to reveal Himself to them, and for them to call upon Jesus’ name for protection, help and peace.
In 1 Peter 1: 6-9 the scripture reads :
“In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.”
Thank you too, Girlfriends in Prayer Chat Group, Royal Rangers Pastors and Commanders, and especially my cell members of HG4, for praying alongside me.
All praise and glory to God! Amen.
